24-pack of .5-liter bottled drinking water. There are 6 States in the United States that have legislated bottle deposits on non-carbonated bottled water. Hawaii, Oregon, New York, Connecticut and Maine require a $0.05 per bottle deposit be charged from the Manufacturer/Distributor to the customer and paid to the State. California requires CRV be charged that ranges from $0.05 per bottle less than 24oz to $0.10 for 24oz and over sizes. Since these Bottle Bill Laws were enacted to encourage plastic bottle recycling, the deposits and CRV should be charged by the member/retailer to the consumer.
